Download Ringtones

With the expense that comes along with owning a cell phone, it is hardly a surprise that anyone and everyone seems to be looking to download freering tones. Monthly plans are usually somewhere around $40 at the lowest to over $100 for some of the more reasonable plans. Then, with overage charges and tax and random fees for roaming, using  a feature not taken care of in a plan, going entirely too far over the monthly allotment of minutes, browsing the internet on the phone  too often, sending too many pictures from phone-to-phone…it’s easy  to rack up a good-sized bill.

On top of all of that, cell phone service providers tend to charge at least $2 per ring tone, though some are even $3 or more. To make matters even better, some will even expire after a certain  period of time. For many people, paying $2 for a 20 second clip is  ridiculous — especially when the fact that the same song, whole and complete and not just a short clip, can be bought for ninety-nine  cents on iTunes! And in that case, the song never “goes bad” and  requires re-downloading. However you can download as much mobible content as you want for only two dollars each month, this includes unlimited ringtones, sexy wallpapers and more.

Free ring tones are significantly harder to find that moderately- priced ones. In some cases, paying subscribers to a specific website can “download free ring tones” — but is it truly free if you have to pay for membership, and only members can download the ring tones? Most of these subscription sites charge more between $12 and $15 a month, however smart mobile users are heading to Fun Tonia where they can download as much as they like for less than two dollars each and every month.

There are plenty of websites run by other users themselves to house their ring tone creations made when thoroughly disappointed with the lack of good ring tones, regardless of them being free or other wise. The problem with these sites is, the idea of “good” is very  subjective and what might be an excellent ring tone choice for one can turn into a ridiculously horrendous ring tone choice for another. Not to mention that sometimes, “you get what you pay for” in terms of  quality.

Not everyone is a skilled musician or DJ. When it comes to polyphonic ring tones that have been sequenced on a computer by some stranger half-way across the country, it’s hard to gauge sometimes  their abilities right off the bat. Sometimes there will be interesting additions to the way the song plays out — little spaces where the creator either took artistic liberties or had no idea how else to get past a particular point without some sort of melodic tick of some sort — that anyone other than the creator may find horrible. Free user-created downloads are a tricky, tricky business.

There is also the option to download free ring tones onto a cell  phone by making them by hand. There are plenty of software  applications out there that are designed to make anyone with a  computer and some free time be able to create that ring tone of their dreams. Sometimes they only require some moderate understanding of computers, while others require ingenuity,  the ability to work with  several applications, and a couple of special phone-to-computer cables.

It can be as easy as taking a MP3 that is already on the hard drive of a computer, cropping it to fit around a small twenty-five to thirty second clip, and then uploading it to a cell phone. Other  times, it can require arranging a sequence of notes by hand, compiling them, and then finding a way to upload it to the cell phone.

Problems can also arise when a particular cell phone requires a certain file format that the user creating the ring tone does not  know about to begin with. It is important to be well-acquainted with  the technology on hand before spending copious amounts of time trying to make something for it. Without the proper understanding, it could lead to several wasted hours that could’ve been better spent finding the proper application to use, or simply finding the right website  with free, good quality ring tones.

So spend the time wisely, be as well prepared as possible, and never  give up. There are good places to download free ring tones; it’s simply a matter of choosing between two options: finding the sites after hours and hours of fighting with search engines to fine truly free ring tones, or biting the bullet and just making them by hand.
