Sprint Ringtones

Fill up that Sprint cellphone now for less than two dollars each month you could download as many ringtones as you like!

The Sprint Corporation, now known as Sprint Nextel after Sprint bought Nextel in 2005 for a sum of $35 billion, is the third largest wireless provider in the United States. Boasting a large number of  subscribers (51.7 million, to be more precise), Sprint has been around in some capacity or another since 1899, when Cleyson Brown from Abilene, Kansas, founded the Brown Telephone Company. In 1972, the company changed its name to United Telecommunications and changed  the name again in 1986 after the addition of a long distance service,  calling themselves Sprint.

Having been in the telephone business for quite some time, the  people at Sprint most likely understand how to handle competition and  keep themselves high on the list of considerations for new customers. With the advent of new technology, as new features are being added to cell phones left and right, Sprint does its best to  keep up with the times. They have camera phones, flexible plans, and  the Sprint Power Vision Network.

In the Sprint Power Vision Network, it is possible to download  games, watch live television, browse the internet, as well as send  pictures and video from phone to phone or through email. Because  phones that are Sprint Power Vision-enabled are very close to having  a portable computer in the palm of your hand as a cell phone can be,  it is also possible to download all sorts of things to customize and  personalize a cell phone to make it stand out from the rest.

On the Sprint website, subscribing customers can access a list with over 15,000 ring tones. They span multiple genres, from rock to hip- hop, reggae to new age, and everything in between. Download  television and movie themes as well as show tunes, from Austin Powers to 2001: A Space Odyssey. For those in college or those who have graduated but still look back fondly on their days as a student,  there are college fight songs.

For those who love to laugh, there are plenty of comedy ringtones to download through the Sprint Power Vision Network. There are  classic comedians like Richard Pryor and George Carlin, along with  newer comedy favorites like Lewis Black, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff  Foxworthy, and the Jerky Boys.

If someone is looking to download something a bit more subtle, there  are a large number of voice alerts, sound effects, and things along  those lines to choose from. For those with more common names, there are downloads available of someone saying a name, telling them to  pick up their phone. It is possible to set a serene ring tone of  monks chanting or even of whale song, just as easily as one can set their phone to play the revving of an engine.

There is also a list of Sprint PCS exclusive ringtones which can  only be found on the Sprint website, whether on a computer or  directly on a mobile phone. These tend to be special remixes of  popular songs, or different clips from songs found on other sections  of the site. Sprint has also begun an exclusive section for video ring tones, designed specifically for phones with video capabilities.

Those who would rather make their own music tones, there is ToneMaker DJ. At a price of $4.99 a month, users can mix their own beats and add vocals from various artists. Not only can users create their own tones, it is possible to download tones made by other users who have also decided to use ToneMaker DJ.

The quality and selection of the music tones on the Sprint Power Vision Network are unbelievable, and cost $2.50 per download. The ring tones only stay active for ninety days, but that shouldn’t be a problem for users who change tones frequently.

It should also be noted that not all phones are Sprint Power Vision Network compatible, so Spring PCS users should check before spending  the money on real music tones. Sprint also has a variety of  polyphonic ring tones, which should work on a larger amount of mobile  phones.

With Sprint Power Vision Network, it is possible to customize a mobile phone in an unbelievably large number of ways. That way, even  in a room full of people with cell phones, a Sprint user can tell  when they are getting a call by the uniqueness of their ring tone.
